2022-2023 Ohio children's budget coalition press conferences

OCBC and Advocates for Ohio's Future Media Conference responding to Senate Substitute Bill: "Who is This Budget For?"

On June 7 2021, the Advocates for Ohio's Future and Ohio Children's Budget Coalition (OCBC) hosted a media conference at the Ohio Statehouse to discuss the Senate Substitute Budget Bill.

When deciding their policy priorities and investments for the next state budget, leaders in the Ohio Senate had the opportunity and resources to set a visionary agenda that ensures all Ohio children, families and communities recover successfully from the economic and public health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and invests in a bold future for all. Instead, the budget bill currently before the Senate is out of touch with the true needs of our neighbors and strays further from the future Ohioans deserve.

Watch this recording to learn more about the provisions that derail the Medicaid procurement process, passes on funding for critical broadband infrastructure, jeopardizes quality child care and diverts critical funding for public programs and community services to pay for tax cuts, and other details that confirm this budget is not for the benefit of Ohio’s children, families and communities.
